In 1999, the Bands Project was created. In the next few years, the number of bands grew to 26, rendering the space used for their performances too small. This is where the idea for an open-air concert came along. Because Mr. Silva also wanted to make this concert a fundraiser, Teen Alive Aid came to mind, inspired by the renowned Alive Aid concert.
